Default Club car DS clutch removal

Is there a easy way to remove the clutch of the FE290 motor? The motor has been removed for a Vanguard swap. I'm looking for a way the doesn't require renting or buying a puller.

Get some PB Plaster and let it soak for a while. Then use a rubber mallet and hit the outside sheave evenly. rotate the clutch and continue the process. This should help. If not, you might have to get a puller.

Can someone post a pic of the correct clutch puller for removing the clutch from the motor of a Club Car?

Some people get a bolt the size that fits the clutch housing, then fill the bolt hole with grease. Then put the bolt in and tighten it will force the grease to push the clutch off. You can't have any air in there. In the case of my 94c I took another small long bolt that fit down to the crank maybe 5/16 and ground the head down so it went inside. I put that in and then the puller bolt (a normal bolt that threads into the clutch not the crank) pushes on that rod (modded bolt) and pops it right off.

Great idea. I'm gonna try it. I've ordered the puller, but patients isn't one of my strong points.

Use grade 8 bolts otherwise they will bend up and strip out then you have a mess

The puller you grease the threads or antisieze, then crank it down tight it should pop off. Sometimes they don't, you can pop the puller on the head with a hammer but don't deform it. That sends a vibration right into the crank and clutch. If your clutch has a hub out the back you can also strike that if you can get to it, but you cant do anything with the sheaves they are weak and will break or bend....thus the puller bolt. If it still don't come off put penetrant on it and come back later. My yamaha would not come off with a 1/2 impact so I put a 3/4 impact on it and twisted the puller bolt, the clutch is still on the engine. I used the back sheave of another clutch with my front, then later bought a 94c for the clone. I should try to get it off again lol. I have also heated things like that, sometimes you can use a propane torch as they don't get so hot but you can still melt the seal on the crank bearing if not careful.

Go to advanced, buy a gear puller. Its $30 and makes life a lot easier. $30 for about 30 seconds, is well worth it. Just my 2 cents!
PS.... don't get their rental, it probably wont fit.

I bought one off eBay for $12.99 w/free shipping. It arrived in 2 days and after letting the clutch soak with a little PB Blaster, it popped right off with little effort. For a one time use, well worth it. If I were to pull clutches all day, i'd definitely invest in a more expensive and heavy duty model.
