Yamaha g2 project
Hey guys its been awhile but i'm in the market to buy a motor for the g2 i currently have a snowmobile engine in it which im taking out and want to swap possibly a predator engine. Thinking about going with the 420. Will the 420 blow the 212cc out of the water power wise ? Reason im asking is cause of the price difference im assuming so but figured id ask anyways thanks

Re: Yamaha g2 project
In the case of clones, cheaper is not better, well maybe for budget purposes. I would suggest the Lifan brand engine, they have the best reputation. I believe Home Depot sells them.
If you are going to modify that engine in any way, I would instead go with the Vegas Carts 460 clone. It's much more heavy duty and is built like a race engine. Cost wise you'll be ahead of the game going this route. |

Re: Yamaha g2 project
I understand tht the 460 is a good motor and well liked on here. But i dont want to go fast anymore in my golfcart did that with the sled engine and lets just say i use it more as a work horse, pulling hauling type choirs on the property. 25 30mph is fine for me. So with that being said. Do we all agree the lifan is the best bang for buck for my application ?

Re: Yamaha g2 project
Keep it stock and it'll run good. I had two clones that I ran with a shaved head and it busted both the blocks.
