vw Carb
I am looking at upgrading my gx390 carb.
I have read many a thread on the stock carb and most all recommend a 30mm replacement that has an accelerator pump due to issues tuning for low high rpm loading bogging ect. For 30mm options 2 common ones seem to be popular. Pz30 cable slide or scooter cv carbs. The pz30 is a clone of an xr /xl 200 carb and i have used them good carb. Little picky on jetting and tiny jets can clog easy. The cv carbs are on many a local broke down scooter. They work excellent IF they have good castings and continue to work well until you loose a diaphragm then they are junk. Electric chokes are fidly as well. The kart forums run Mikuni 32-38mm flatslides. Little out of specs for low end torque. Well i was looking at a buddies 1500cc VW bug. They make an h30/31 pict carb for them for cheap. Has electric choke, anti dieseling solenoid, Accel pump, Power valve, and best of all 30mm intake. Bug runs smooth and he says its easy to tune the carb. Has anyone attempted one of these on a clone/ honda? Did it work well? New ones on ebay stat at 80$. Buddy can get one for me for 60$ http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-F...9Weuwc&vxp=mtr |
