Default Powerland 420 169$

So fireman_033 found this engine on eb*y and used it on his build, I thought the price was interesting at 179$
I ordered one planning on putting it in one of my carts, it showed up I ran it on the ground for 3 hours and it worked great
So I tore it apart and removed the governer, put heavier valve springs in it and dropped it in a club car ds
The engine runs great I don't know why it is so cheap but it does say something about not running above 3500 ft
I figured if it was a problem I would put a Vegas carts carb on it and be good.
When I had the crankcase cover off the internals looked as good of quality of any clone I've had apart.
I was so impressed with the price and how it runs I ordered 2 more to stash under the bench to use for later projects, also they sent me back 20$ cause they said they lowered the price.
So if anyone is looking for a cheap clone repower I would recommend this good deal.
169$ free shipping pull start and I think 179$ for the electric start.

Wow, that is dirt cheap. They also list a lot of parts in case anyone looking for clone parts. Some have had issues with the cheaper clones but mostly when they mod them. If you run it mostly stock they seem to work fine, the quality has improved in the last few years there is no doubt about that. Some have had the pushrods cause issues for example at high rpm, while the lifan seems to not have those problems.

Well I put a weekend on this engine and it worked perfectly, not as powerful as my vc460 in the marathon but still plenty
I think it would do better with a 780 and bigger secondary clutch but it seems to work fine with the 30 year old club car parts and 1 wide belt
The only problem I noticed was a little fuel in the oil so I may have to put the vc carb on it. I think my fuel pump it a little strong for the needle and seat.

Is a return line worth a try?

I already have one.
I'm gonna try to change the oil first I ran it for a while without the return lime so it might have happened then.
Just wondering what oil do you run in yours iv been running strait 30 weight in all of mine not really sure what I should be running.

I'm putting another one of these in a g2
They seem to be a lot tighter in the engine bay than the club car ds
The air filter will not work with the Yamaha but Vegas carts (tekenspace)
Has theirs for 20$ on eBay
It says it's blemished
I think it will give me enough room to make the engine fit

You can do a G9 like this, I ran mine for a while until I built the new airbox system. You need the airbox on a clone with the overhead hurricane style filter, the filter is above the carb. If you don't you can sometimes get them cheap on ebay. I cut a piece of plastic sink drain tube and it fit inside the top hole where the filter was, then you can clamp a hose on it without it crushing. You look close at the stock g9 hose you can cut it into 4 90 degree elbows of different diameters. I don't remember what ones I used, but with a piece of 1.5" I think pvc you can run a pipe to the stock G9 airbox it works great, it fit so tight I don't think I even had clamps on all of them.

Here is only pic I can find shows pvc to the stock airbox. The other pic shows the tube inside the top of the clone airbox base, it is plastic chrome tube off a sink drain the part that hangs off the sink to the trap. I used 2 90s out of the stock yamaha hose and one piece of pvc.

This setup can be restrictive at high rpm if you put springs in the clone, but seemed fine for stock type use. Note I did remove the silencer from the stock airbox that helped a lot for the stock engine. Its the part that hangs over the generator, now you just see a square hole there.
