EZGO won't go in reverse easliy

Have a 2003 Ezgo (with Vegas clone installed 2 years ago), just started to act up and won't shift to reverse. Cable seems OK. Can force into reverse if I push on lever at trans axle as I shift. Sometimes have to roll in forward then shift to reverse and then lever will slip down into reverse. Anyone seen this issue? Runs fine in forward or reverse when I can get in reverse.

are you using starter generator or electric start?

Check your springs on the shifter cables and see if maybe the tension for the reverse cable backed off or if the cable itself is broken.... I asked about you using the s/g or starter because if you are using an electric starter, alot of time guys have their idle to high for it to shift.

Looks like it was cable adjustment, Finally got out to wrench on it. Did some adjusting on the cable and looks like it is working now. Cart is down here at the Texas coast and only gets used when I am down here and have limited tools. First debug just didn't look like an adjustment issue since have been no changes recently. The cable looked like full movement. Guess it must have been marginal all along!
