Yamaha g2 13hp running out of fuel?
HI all I recently did a predator 420 in my g2 yamaha the cart is working awesome when it is working right. Here is the issue it keeps running out of fuel at w.o.t for about 30 seconnds if I ease off the throttle for about a mile then roll back in it the gas it feels strong again. For abut 30 seconds then dies again sometimes completely out. I had a bypass line in so I removed it thinking this could my issue. And it still dies when I hold widea open for any amount of time. The cart does have the gov. Disabled on it maybe bowl can't carry this much fuel? Thanks for your help guys.

What type of gas line do you have? What type hose did you use for your vacuum pulse line? The pulse hose should be a harder type tube so it doesn't flex from the pulsation. If its getting to hot it could soften. Also did you change the fuel filter in the gas tank?

Re: Yamaha g2 13hp running out of fuel?
I did not pull the filter on the tank? It seems to be running out of the line when removed very fast. The type of line is parker it's clear gas line I also used that same 3/8 line for the pulse line from the valve cover. In the valve cover I used the provided black neoprene hose that was on it slipped my lime into it and put 2 zip ties on it at a idle when the black line is removed off from the valve cover there is a audible pop of it breaking the seal. There is also an in line fuel filter. I did run a bypass and put a zip tie around the line and continued to add a click to tighten the line down to pinch it off with no luck. Ended up removing the line completely and that is when it seemed to go the longest without running out of fuel.

If you're running an in line filter then you can remove the filter that's in the tank, it could be clogged or 2 filters might just be too much restriction. I think that's one point Shepard was getting at.

Re: Yamaha g2 13hp running out of fuel?
Got ya! OK I can try that to speed the flow up. What about pullin a line off the intakefor impulse I would assume that would be stronger at w.o.t? Or should I be OK with the one off the valve cover? That line is abut 2 ft. Long because the motor is in backwards wondering if that's making the pull to weak at w.o.t?

Re: Yamaha g2 13hp running out of fuel?
Yes the original 285 ran but knocked pretty loud. The original pulse pump i's not being used it's a pump from 79 ezgo ( what I had on the shelf ready to go rebuilt) I like the election fuel pump idea but would like to maintain the vacuume pump if possible. I'm not trying to throw another ? Out there but I was thinking what if I pulled pulse off the intake siDE were pulse would be much stronger? Instead of the valve cover that was designed e.p.a thanks again you guys!

Re: Yamaha g2 13hp running out of fuel?
Well I pulled a pulse line off from the block between the head and carb i taped in a small brass nipple and then ran a line to the pump. This is what it's doing runs for a minute on idle . I watch all the clear fuel line's as soon as I Rev it up a bunch of bubbles come from the carb and then all the fuel runs back to the tank? Almost like it's vapor locking or like not venting. Gas cap is off when I'm doing these run's. I seen a Vegas cart motor set up I tried to mimic the exact set up they have when using the fuel pump. Only thing I can think now is it is in the carb set up like needle seat pressure? I trimmed the small spring on the float needle to see if that would help no difference.

Did you mount the vacuum pump on the fuel tank in its original position? I'm having a problem with the fact that with a full tank of fuel -- the fuel level is higher then the carburetor.
