Default Predator 670 idle jet adjustment.

I have a 04 Club Car Ds that I have swapped a 670 predator in. This site has been a very useful tool. I can't find anything on adjusting the carb. Is there any adjustments I can make to richen the carb at idle. I tried drilling out the main jets, now It runs fine but still won't idle right or start without choke warm or cold.

Thanks

Issue solved. Swapped for a gx 690 carb off an old pressure washer I had. Had to disable the fuel cut plunger. Bolt right on other than that.

I was wondering when someone was going to try a carb off either a honda or vanguard and see what happens. Next up is finding what will beef up the valve train.

I haven't looked into that yet. I don't think the heads are the same as Honda. I am not very pleased with the stock performance of this motor.

That has been Vegascarts take on this engine. The money is better spent and their 460 or a vanguard. Their facebook page shows one with one of their new headers but Geoff is still not a fan.

Yea I would not recommend doing the swap. I will probably swap a different motor in here can't keep up with my other cart trail riding. G2 with a stock 420 with a Vc carb.

How could it be slower? I can see top end the twin needs mods to get more rpm but a stock 420 dies at 4K-4400 anyway unless you have UT1 and HD springs. Is this like a stock vanny all the power is at 2-3K rpm?

I can say I have done a lot of messing with my 420 and clutches to get it to work better than stock 420 does. It still only runs better above 3500 or so. I have one to compare.

It's power band is definitely under 3k. After that it just doesn't have much power. I have the governor bypassed. It's like driving a gas tractor slow and tons of torque nothing slows it down more. It tops out around 25 on a dirt road just takes a long time after initially taking off that is strong. I have 25" tires on it too.

The 420 in my g2 pulls hard to 4K or so then dies off. It also has a cvt off a Polaris 400 that may be helping it.

I am going to put a stock gx390 in the club car this week and compare it to the predator twin. The twin would probably be better if I could get a rev kit and cam for it?

I don't know of any parts for it yet, not sure. What you can do is use it, so set the secondary preload soft and get the clutch to shift at 3K or less. It will help until you get some speed, and you will need HS gears if you want to go faster. It could help to open up the airbox/filter or change it, and the exhaust. If you have to jet it richer then you know you made it flow more.
