Default Lifan 420 Swap

Here is the process start to finish for my Lifan 420 into a totally custom 86 ezgo. I cut out the rear leaf springs, built a swing arm setup and used coilovers from a Honda pioneer 700. The axle is a new ezgo.

Nice work. Do you have the engine in it yet?

Here is the swing arm with engine mount and engine in place. I had to get rid of the stock tank , breather, and exhaust.

I had issues with the Rev limiting coil, but fixed that with a new coil. Runs great now. Just added a winch. The front end is from a Honda trx450. I still need to add the front brakes. I will post more pics later.

Do you have a video of it running ? I am looking at this engine but don't want it to sound like a pressure washer. Like to hear the exhaust

There are a variety of videos on YouTube of similar engines in carts you can listen to, although they may be HF Predators rather than a Lifan.

This is a lengthy thread but covers the primary factor in how one of these engines sounds. The muffler and how to mount it.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/clone...e-exhaust.html

With an actual header pipe and muffler of any sort it won't sound a lot like a generator or power washer. But they do tend to have a fair amount of engine noise. Some have found that is related mostly to valve train noise.

My TXT with the VC625 doesn't sound like a pressure washer. It sounds like a large single cylinder ATV with the provided lunchbox shaped muffler. Hopefully late next week it will be equipped with a different muffler and tailpipe including a motorcycle style baffle.
