Default Help adjusting vc tuned carb on lifan 420

Hi guys, just got my tuned carb from VC. I'm trying to get my rpm's down to around 900, but can only get down to 1300, I'm not sure if I'm adjusting the carb right, I've searched the board, but cant find anything on how to adjust the vc tuned carb. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I found that I had to keep going back and forth between the idle and fuel screw to get the idle down.

900 might be pushing it on the Lifan. My Lifan 390 wasnt very happy with that low of an RPM. Interestinlgy when I put the same carb on a GX 390 I was able to lower the RPM by 150-200 vs the Lifan.

CW on the idle screw will increase idle / CCW will lower it.

CW on the fuel screw will lean it / CCW will richen it.

ok. so I had it backwards. I've been adjusting for the last hour, and finally have it down to around 1100 - 1200 rpm, which seems to be low enough to shift from f to r , at least it just worked fine for me on the test drive. This is a 91 yamaha G9 with the gov. still on. I had to strech the return spring on the gov. to get it down that low. I really appreciate the feedback.

Thanks
