I also got it fired up today but my issue is I have to hold the governor rod by hand to shut if off with the screw all the way out or use the key under the seat. Also at idle it lopes a little and the belt always turns and the motor is all the way back as far as it goes.

You'll need a throttle return spring hook up to the governor arm to shut the throttle off all the way. It sucks you've spent so much money - but - looks like you'll need to get a longer belt so you can get some free play so it shifts easily.

I already have the longer belt on it. Once I get it to shut off I’ll drive for a little while and see if it loosens up. It just barely grabs now and still has the shipping beds in it. I have more springs so I’ll fiddle around with that today if I don’t melt. Gonna be a hot one. And this thing is so LOUD. Can’t find a tailpipe that small yet. Hope it even helps enough. Definitely too loud for this campground.

Looks good so far! Those belts are a pain but you'll get it!

I like the threaded exhaust standoff! Just run 1 inch pipe, easy and no welding or bending required.

Yeah it made things easier that way. so I'm having a backfire issue, seems I lost my backpressure .Added a spring from a washing machine and adjusted that til i got it to shut motor off. now i can put wheels to the ground and see about belt adjustment but first i wanna tackle this loudness. Good gosh! They're gonna throw me out of the campground !! Hahaha

Back again...so i figured out the whole belt issue but WAY too loud for a campground so called nearest napa and ordered a walker 22229 muffler. What a difference. much quieter and gave enough back pressure to stop the backfires when you let off the gas. Very pleased with it now, even with the governor due to 5mph speed limit. Hella torque on hills.

Now I have an issue I hope someone can help me with...seems to not be charging my battery. was driving around for about 5 mins today and I stopped for a couple mins and got back on and nothing. luckily was only 2 sites over and pushed it back. after checking everything with the meter, put the battery on charge for a few and it started to turn over. Presently waiting to finish charging but does anyone know what may have happened?
