What's wrong with the one you have? Check NR Racing I think they may have a mild performance cam for the 420 Hemi. Did you know that the Hemi has 1.5+ foot pounds more torque then the standard 420?

Jody at ARC talks about this issue on the hemis. The splash oil fin and the crank case are close. IF you egg out the connecting rod it will impact on the crank case and break off the fin. That appears to be what happened here. For some reason this only occurs in this manner in the hemi version. Time for a better connecting rod. I would encourage anyone using an ungoverned clone to take some time on youtube and look at Jody from ARC videos there. There a TON of info about tuning, installing parts, and where problems can occur on the specific clone engine. I have never seen such complete data like this for any small engine. P.S. 460 users I tried hard to get him to have a 92 mm piston tooled up to go with their connecting rod for the 460. I seen in his 390 video someone on line asked him to build one of their billet flywheels with charging magnets. We both got the same answer "not enough demand"

From what I've read -- not all -- but there are some parts the fit the GX390 will also fit the 420 Hemi. If you read a lot you'll start reading between the lines seeing that if a part fits your engine but will fit other engines also.
https://www.gopowersports.com/stage-...rformance-kit/
If the cam in this kit fits the 420cc Hemi and the GX390 also -- whats to say a cam listed for a GX390 will also fit a 420 Hemi.
From all I've read the head is the main difference. The Hemi makes more torque then the non- Hemi. The big valves are the reason. I believe the bottom end parts will interchange, that's only my opinion based on - why make different parts like the crank and cam when the head is the only main change. The block is different to accept the head, but guts are the same.

P.S. Most of those parts are ARC racing. So you could pick and choose what you use. P.P.S The connecting rod is the same one I have for my omega 460 build. I would guess those cams are too radical for a golf cart but the VC torque cam does work well. P.P.S I see NR racing list a whole valve/ valve spring package for the 420 hemi as well as the ARC 6272 rod.

With all this cam talk IF your clone takes the .630 cam journal, all the aftermarket and stock clone cams will fit. IF you have the larger journals cams maybe an issue.
