Re: cart shuttering
Welcome to BGW -- yes your belt should be 1-3/16" wide.

Re: cart shuttering
You should have approximately 1-1/2" deflection on the belt when you push down on it. If more, tighten the belt or replace.

Re: cart shuttering
If you don't notice this condition under normal ride conditions, it could also be what is referred to as axle wrap. In the situation you are experiencing, the shutter, you are under more torque than normal. If your leaf springs are worn/tired, they will have more of a tendency to flex under higher torque, causing a sensation of shuttering.
May or may not be the case in your situation, but worth taking a look at. |

Re: cart shuttering
Yamahas have coil springs mounted to the engine cradle itself.

Re: cart shuttering
checked coil springs, deflection on belt 2 1/2 inches, cart goes like the clappers under normal conditions just when loading, perhaps the ramps may be a little steep?

Re: cart shuttering
Someone may have installed the wrong belt, that is too loose. With the belt worn to 1-1/8" maybe time to replace anyway. I would also check for broken engine mounts, this would allow the engine to move rearward.

Re: cart shuttering
I would guess its the belt or primary clutch issue, unless you mean the engine is running strangely.
