Mikuni carb swap 23hp briggs
Stock carb on this machine needs a rebuild. The kits are pricey and I have a ton of Mikunis laying around. I also have the billet adapter for a Mikuni change over I never got around too. Its a 34mm. Anybody got some ball park numbers I can start with? Main jet, pilot jet and the like?

Re: Mikuni carb swap 23hp briggs
They come pretty fat out of the box, so you will want to tune toward leaner depending on your exhaust. I'm running a TM32 on a 670 predator and have stepped the pilot down one size, the main jet to 235, and dropped the needle one step, and still runs on the rich side. Mine started with a 250 main jet, and 45 pilot. So yours will have richer metering. If your exhaust is free flowing it helps lean the mixture as more air is moving through the engine. I would run it as is, and read the plugs. If rich, step down the metering pilot and jet, then put a clean/new plug in and re-test till it stops fuel fowling the plug, then you can fine tune it from there.
