Harley Davidson Limo cart engine upgrade
The old Briggs opposed twin was starting to give us problems keeping it running, so I started down the engine upgrade path. First, I bought a Predator 420cc Hemi and installed it, but that engine failed to keep running. Fouling plug, stunk like unburnt fuel...all with stock carb and stock muffler. I decided to return it and upgrade to the 670cc Predator instead. Plus, I had a coupon :)
This is the start of my build thread. Sorry, I didnt take photos of the steel mounting plate after I cut slots in it for mounting this beast of an engine. I am going to keep it bone stock , but extend the exhaust out of the rear of the cart with flex pipe. It fit beautifully and the 38 ft lbs of torque will drive the Yamaha G2 rear end nicely. Using a Comet 780 with an added v-groove pulley for the alternator. Fit like a glove Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk |

Doesn't the big Predator have a reasonable charger output so that you wouldn't need the additional charging capacity?

Can't find anything on the web. Maybe a member here who has one knows. I know the Lifan v-twin has a 22amp charging system.

Made some progress today. Bolted down, tail pipe routed to rear, choke and trottle cables installed
Next up: 12v fuel pump (not using pulse pump), 12v to fuel shutoff solenoid and alternator bracket fabrication Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk |

Re: Harley Davidson Limo cart engine upgrade
It looks like flex from the muffler outlet but I can't really tell from the photo. If so, I am curious what type of clamp you used. Saddle clamps don't seem to seal real well. But it has been a long time since I worked with flex exhaust.

Re: Harley Davidson Limo cart engine upgrade
I put flex on the muffler output. I modified the spark arrestor and turned it into a bushing to go between the muffler outlet o.d. and flex tube i.d.
