Default 420cc predator key switch wont engage start and wont charge

Hey everyone I swapped a 420 predator in my 1997 club car. I cut the wiring harness and extended it to the dash haven't had a problem with it for 2 or 3 months until yesterday. Went for quick ride the volt meter showed it was charging got back home shut it off and then nothing starter wouldn't turn over . I took a jumper wire and turn the key on touched the started fired right up and noticed it wasn't charging. checked all the wiring connections all seemed fine . Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks

I know you've already said "wiring connections all seemed fine", but it sounds like something has broken contact somewhere. Pulled or melted wire in the middle of a run? Maybe a solenoid issue, but I'm not certain just how you have it wired. I've done a couple 420 swaps and just connected them to the cart's original wiring - original solenoid, starter generator, voltage regulator and all.

What type connectors did you use? I suggest soldering all your connections then heat shrink to seal it up. Anything less will lead to the problems your experiencing now.

Yea Meimk I felt certain something had come loose or chaffed . I cut the wiring harness on the 420 and just extended it to the dash . I Even took my fluk meter and rang all the wires out didn't have any funky reading . thanks for the reply
