Default VC 460 throttle linkage

Ok here’s a question seems like every pic I see on throttle hook up it’s coming off the governor arm and know all you guys are not running a governor so wat I’ve decided to do is cut off the governor linkage arm where it goes in the block and use the seal of course and then put the arm so it would function like the stock governor would but have no governor is any running this type setup and is it ok ?

You have to get the linkage linear with the pedal and the way it is set up in the pic you would have way too much motion.

A different approach is in my clone throttle thread turning the stock arm into a bell crank. Original was off the stock trans governor and later direct from gas pedal to carb.

On the 460 they use the original governor rod, if its out of position it will bump into the cam gear while its running. I've opened mine up and removed them. If you turn it one way it hits the crank and cam gears - turn it the other way and it will fall into the block for removal.

That works, as long as it's not bumping into anything.
