1996 club car clone swap ignition box question
I have a 96 club car that had the FX 290 that I just removed. I'm putting in the harbor freight 63940 Clone Engine and want to know what I need to do with this ignition box? The cart already has a key switch on the dash and I'd like to retain that. Has anyone tackled this before?

Re: 1996 club car clone swap ignition box question
Couple of things to know, if you want to use the stock charge coil (it's only 3amps, not very good) there is a diode in that box, without a diode the charge coil will be burned out almost instantly. Also, the ignition wire is grounded to kill the engine, and needs nothing for the engine to run. I don't know how the ignition switch is setup on your cart.
