Default Greyhound 66555

Hey guys I was recently given a Greyhound 66555 13hp engine. Is it the same as the Predators at Harbor freight and is it a Honda clone that can be modified like the Predator?

It looks like a non-hemi clone, so performance parts are readily available. Any unique difference that engine may have, I couldn't tell you.

I’m 99% sure most parts are interchangeable with the 420 predator & gx390.
Might be a variance internally but stag 1 kits should be the same.

Thanks guys, just wanted to make sure. I'm putting it in a G2 and will be lifting it 6 inches. Will mainly be a campground cart but will also be doing some moderate trail riding. This particular engine was actually given to me after my wife and I moved. I had purchased a 420 Predator and in the process of the move it was ruined. Something about falls form a moving truck to the concrete 4 feet below it seems to have done her in.LOL

Some really like the greyhound gx200 clones, so it may be a good engine. The champion is another brand. It should work well. Plan on jetting the carb richer and try to find a muffler that flows more. Can also do other mods like porting, cutting head, header, timing advance key, that will help it out. However some now have ut2 ignition and they have a rev limit in them. They will have more than one wire out of the coil. You can buy one from NR without the limiter.

Thanks for the info guys. I will be eliminating the govenor and tuning the carb. I also plan to install the adjustable timing bracket from VC. The exhaust and the intake are my only concerns as of right now due to the lack of space in the Yamaha.
