Default Help 420 predator questions

I just bought a harbor freight 420cc. buts it is not like the others I have bought in the past. it has a much bigger valve cover [6 bolts], I have heard these are hemi engines, are they any good vs the other ones? went back to my harbor freight to exchange and these are all they have. no gonna mod it up just gonna use it stock for the most part. 2nd question is does anyone have pics of where to tap the valve cover on one of these to get my fuel pulse, don't wanna buy the carb spacer. thanks!!!!

Sounds like a Hemi to me. The valve cover is 2 pieces - an inner and outer shell -- install the hose barb as hig as possible in the cover to avoid oil getting into the fuel pump. There are a lot of performance parts available for the 420 Hemi.

Look on harbor freight's web site. Both the 420's pictured are wedges. I didn't say they were being produced just that harbor freight was no longer importing the hemi. The ones that were in stores were unsold earlier units.

Yes. thru both inner and outer covers. As high on the side of the cover near the original vent. Don't use the crankcase vent - that needs to be kept open with a filter on it.

The part number for the hemi is 60340 or 60349 and when looking at the specs -- the hemi has 19.8 ft @ 2500 rpm compared to the other 420 ad. It only has 18.4 ft @ 2500 rpm. As for being 2 wedge heads, Whoever dose the web page is just lazy or doesn't know any better.
