Default 16 hp clonda

Ok guys that have done the 16 hp from harbor freight or where else you get them. I am looking to do this to my g14. Final word is it worth the 400 for motor and 325 for clutch and what else i would need to get going with it. Will i gain alot, alittle torque. A couple mph's. The 9 hp stock runs fine but just like everybody else more torque is really wanted. Speed not necesary but more torque yes. Opinons please. I want to make sure before money is spent. Better hill climbing? I have already done the torque spring in driven clutch.

Can't help with the clone engines, but Vangaurds have so much torque, you'd probably want to remove the Torque spring. I think Ron (TNG) would be the expert here. RON?

I think the clone is worth it so far. Lots more torque and climbing power. Top speed not great but good for my application 28-30 mph. I wouldn't use this for a racing engine! The CVTech clutch from CPP is great I really like it. Keep in mind though, I would rather have another B/S Vanguard just low on cash and wanted to try the clone to see for myself if they are any good. I will know for sure in a few more months at the campground.

i bought my honda clone from carol stream online through ebay. 369.00 delivered. ordered one day it was in my driveway the next day. no hassle, no fuss. if i had a counter clockwise starter/generator, i would have gotten the pullstart 16hp clone, and used my starter off of the cart and saved a few bucks. it fits pretty well in the same place as the original motor. all i had to do was slide it forward, and to the drivers side. haven't finished yet but it looks pretty decent. sure beats the heck out of paying over 2 grand for a club car motor..........and it has 2x the hp and torque.

I'm instaling my carroll Stream motor as we speak. Anything is better than the tired flathead :( . It still a $$$$ upgrade if you include the clutch. $800 total for a golf cart?? But I use mine off road so I need it to be able to climb hills with adults on board.
My cart build will be just over $3K when done. Not going to put any more money into it than that. Tough to sell a cart for over $3k around here.

I bought mine off ebay. Just type in 16hp engine and look for one with electric start. With the engine in my cart I can wheelie about two inches and tow my waverunner, its slow up hills with the waverunner but it works. The engine has a lot more power and torque than stock.

A 16 hp clone will fit a g14 right. Not many people talk about g14's very often here. Did i do wrong by building it. Im almost done with it beside the motor upgrade.

Just waiting for my 4wheeler to sell to get motor and then sell stock motor. All i have left is the motor upgrade and some type of top. Fighting with wife on flip flop seat. She loves it and i want just a dump bed. My oldest son agrees with me.
