Default Duromax 16HP

Thinking about getting the Duromax 16HP for my G2. I'm sure this has been asked before but will I need a new clutch? anything else as well. Thanks!

You can use your stock clutch with this adapter http://www.cartpartsplus.com/tapered...h-adapter.html

You will have to build or purchase an engine mount http://www.cartpartsplus.com/yamaha-...ine-mount.html

You will need a longer dive belt. The cart will need to be lifted for clearance under the seat. You will need to fab up cable retainers for throttle and choke. You will need to tap into the valve cover for a vacuum line to operate the fuel pump.

I'll probably think of more!

Since I follow Ron now......

Adapt to the stock gas tank?

Wiring harness extension and re-work for key start.

Extending the muffler further back so your a$$ doesn't catch on fire.......

What else??

I have a clone in my G8 and am running the stock gas tank and muffler that came on the motor, all i had to do to make it fit before I lifted it was shim the seat higher, which you cant do on a G2. I bought my clutch from CPP.

If I changed the motor mount around I think lifted I could fit the stock 16hp muffler in there, kept the rear of the engine lower. Might have to move it forward and use a longer belt and then you might not fit the generator if one was keeping it. The airbox is a real problem though in the G2/9, half the box we have now only missed the shock coils by less than .25" and that is with the crank cut way off to 1.125". We cut near 2" off the crank or whatever it was. Maybe the aftermarket clutches fit tighter to the engine?

I don't know if one could fit the muffler unlifted by lowering the engine more, we lowered it in the front 1.25" and raised it .375" in the rear, approximately. However the stock engine the entire oil pan hangs under the mounts so the clone has the crank higher than yamaha did. If I went lower I'd have to remove the governor rod in the trans, could tilt the engine a little more forward but that would raise the stock muffler. Also if I moved it forward no way would the generator fit but the engine could be mounted lower that way. Anyway, maybe that helps someone. Thing runs strong, intake spacer with the pulse will be here next week. I can't tune on it much it stops every 5 minutes with oil in the pump.

They are the same engine I believe
Some manufacturers take liberties in rating their engines
