I saw that one. What kind of primary clutch would fit into the 1" keyed shaft?

You can get an adapter to use your clutch on the straight shaft. I have one of these in my EZGO with a CVT clutch for m canada off ebay. I love it. Just had to remove the governor arm and hook up a straight cable to the carb to make it run smooth at slow speeds. Some say they don't charge the battery, but have had mine up and running for a couple months and the battery seems to charge fine. Actually pretty good engine for these carts, lots of torque, climbs anything my 4 wheeler does.

Home Depot had some cheap on their site, they might be why everyone is lowering their prices on these. Could get the one with no elec start and no charging for 250. If you keep the stock generator you don't need either.

I got that motor not too long ago, but I wish I would have got a briggs. My buddy has a 16hp briggs that he just put a comet clutch and a rev kit in, he's going to smoke me!

Woodman,
I have been running mine for 6 months now. I like it a lot. Strong and as fast as as I need. You'll like it fine unless you wanted a drag cart!

You have to buy some parts for the clone to get big rpm, though you still might have less into it than a new briggs and it will make more power/rpm. Around 700 in parts would get the flywheel, cam, rod, valvetrain stuff. That should easily be over 20hp and significantly more rpm depending on the cam you use. Its not that hard to get 30hp from them with a full build. 1400-1700 you can buy one all built and ready to go. Is it worth it, hard to say we don't have a problem with a twin like the gokart guys do with weight and size. They do have a v twin clone here now but its not that cheap only a couple hundred less than a vanguard so why buy it, the price may drop as more places carry it. It is hard to beat the 18hp vanguard and a rev kit, they have good power and wind out more than most for great speeds a guy with a G9 gets 45mph. IIRC it has a shorter stroke. However for a cheap replacement with more power the clone can't be beat, it just isn't going to rev that high stock but has a lot more torque. A guy on here is getting 5500 out of his, I don't think my stock G9 will do that or the clone I put in. But I have not run the clone down the road to see only shorter runs. When I put one in my cart we will see what a cut head and advanced timing does.
