What Direction Of Rotation?
Considering replacing the kf82 in a 91 model cc with a Duromax clone. Do the clone engines spin the same direction as the kf82? Does the original kf82 starter/gen have enough torq to reliably start these motors?

Re: What Direction Of Rotation?
When talking direction I get confused about if counter clockwise is looking at the clutch from the right side of the cart or from the left. My real question is this. Does the clone spin the same direction as a kf82?

Re: What Direction Of Rotation?
Stand on the clutch side of your cart and turn the engine over. Watch the direction of rotation on the clutch. This will tell you if it is CW or CCW. The Duromax engines spin CCW

Re: What Direction Of Rotation?
CCW is vastly more common than CW engines. Your KF82 and the Duromax are rotating in the the same direction.

Re: What Direction Of Rotation?
Thanks guys. I just bit the bullet and ordered a duromax from maxtool.com. $289 no tax and freight included. It has the electric start but I think I'm going to use the original starter/gen.

Why would you want to do that?

Re: What Direction Of Rotation?
From what I've read so far (and I'm a rank newbie on this topic) the stock charge system may not be sufficient to keep up with lights.

Re: What Direction Of Rotation?
I only did one of those clones... it had a 20 amp charge system. I did hear there were others with less output but depending upon how much you use the lights; you could easily get away with half of that.... keep it simple. This is a tough enough conversion already, IMHO

Re: What Direction Of Rotation?
I hear you. Plan is to use the stock clutch with the cpp adapter. I'm going to pull the govenor stuff out. But thats probably about the extent of mods I'm goint to do. Oh ya I plan to plumb the pulse pump into the valve cover also. I saw the pics you posted of your conversion and it looks great. Where did yo get the exhaust from.
