Default I got the clone install started

I just got the still the stock motor pulled tonight. I will begin the cleaning of the frame and start install of the clone next weekend. Really looking forward to see what this new motor will bring as far as power and hill climbing.

I don't have a twin to race, but TheNewGuy has both and has commented on them. The v twin will go faster it can get more rpm. However compared to a stock G9 the 16hp clone has piles more torque it is twice the power on hills. It will set you back in the seat a little taking off. It lets off on top though not much different on rpm. I've had the clone spinning up a steep little hill (a big ditch about 6' high) with two guys in field grass (good traction) lofting the front over the top...and the stock cart crawled up it with one person.

alright the clone is in and the torque is real nice. it spins the tires up a hill behind the house that the stock motor wouldnt climb. i will get pictures as soon as wife can find the camera. still need to put tail pipe on it and lower the motor some for more clearance between seat brace and muffler and aircleaner. i am totally sastisfied with this but only makes me want a v-twin but that will be next build. someday

i will try to get them on tonight or tomorrow. it was not really that hard to do. the cradle was the toughest and i probably am going to redo it. just have other ideas and the motor needs to be a little lower for clearance

Did you end up using the g14 gas tank or the one on the new motor?

Also, did you measure the distance from the clutch to the rear end? If so, what was the distance? I was going to rebuild so I didnt measure. Now I don't want to put the crank case, clutch, etc. back together to measure.

the install was not that bad at all. mine is running real good. the fuel line i drilled in the carb spacer and not having a problem at all. the belt is from a local ezgo dealer. it was the longest one they had and i can get you the part number tonight. i had the motor installed in one weekend and believe the next one would just be a long day. i did make the cradle and that was what took the longest. i have a new idea and may even redo the cradle. the motor does need to be lower than it sits now. pics will come soon
