Default g9 fast upshift?

Well I have the 13 horse in and running. Thanks to some help and ideas from this forum. I'm running a cvtech primary. How much slack should the belt have? It seems to have plenty and yet the belt won't seem to ride on top of the secondary. When I'm taking off from a stop I'd say the belt is maybe 1 inch down on the secondary. And in no time its all the way down. Also I have the engine mounted slightly off center to allow carb room. Would that cause this or should I look at a power kit?

If you remove the belt does the driven clutch close any more? If it does you need to increase spring tension in it.
I would try to cut a couple of 1/16" shims and shim the spring tighter.

With the stock engine the belt just touches the frame at rest, but the clone I put in is higher than stock. It should be at top of secondary at rest, long as the belt is loose in the primary like it should be at idle or stopped. If not you have a problem, only the primary closing should pull the belt into the secondary. When you gas it a little the primary should grab the belt near the bottom, if belt too loose it will grab say 1/3 up or more and it will bog. If it does not take off with belt at top of secondary and near bottom of primary, you will not get your 'low gear' for power and climbing at low speeds.

If you had the secondary apart did you preload it with stock spring? I put mine in a vice and made it longer, lol.

The clutches should be offset to run right, I checked a stock cart and duplicated it. Carb is close, we need an intake for yamahas.
