It will depend on the airbox and muffler you use. I had to make my jet way larger I put a car airbox and muffler on it.

Post #43 is how this one is jetted now, I used a torch tip cleaner and mic'ed the last one that fit tight. If you go back there are photos of the install. Too much main jet and it missed at 1/8 throttle 10mph about.

Are replacement jets available and what type number are they? Or do you have to make your own? If you screw up and go too big, where can you get a replacement to start over?

I bought a carb rebuild kit on ebay for $14 or whatever it was, that gave me another stock jet to ream out plus the idle jet screw I later broke off again....but its close to the right spot now. Also gives you new float valve and other parts if you need them. You can get the jets at most kart engine places, find a size chart on the net, get a cheap drill set from HF for them if you want to drill them. You can covert my english size but not saying that size is right for your cart it depends on what you do to air flow in and out of the engine. IIRC you can also get honda GX jets most honda parts fit them since they are a very close copy. For $35 you can get an adjustable jet at nr racing, you just use a big jet and the needle goes into it to make it smaller (main jet).

Remember when the carb sat in your crotch on snow mobiles and you could tweak it as you raced your buddy across the lake?

Yep, I remember those days. Lots of engines didn't make it all the way across the lake because they were leaned out too much trying to beat your buddy. Lean makes 2-strokes scream, but they run hot and burn up.

Lotta neat stuff on the nr Racing site. You could dump some big bucks into hopping up a Honda or clone engine for racing!

LOL you said it all, and how about the oil/gas sprayed all over the crotch of your snowsuit? I could have got a 71 scorpion with a rockwell a while back, modified, but no room here and those are a mother to ride I remember. Took a spin on a 900 cat a while back and wow, sleds keep getting better. I don't have time to ride one lately. That guy is trying to sell me a 700 cat I said no.

Yes you can go crazy with the clones, problem is they (kart people) have a weight issue with engines and we don't. For $1K+ I can drop a V twin in with a rev kit and header/etc and it will run pretty nice and has an oil pump. Think CS has a v twin clone engine finally but just under $1K its hardly worth buying at that price. I'd love a v twin diesel clone, a punsun 22hp in a cart that would be sweet. Might need gears or 27s/etc.

Twin cylinder Diesels, especially v-twins tend to vibrate a lot resulting in stuff cracking, breaking, loosening up and falling off. That's why most small Diesels are triples. Here's one to start on. Might bust your budget, though. LOL:
