Default DuroMax in a stock CC

Ok, can't seem to find anything so, I'll just ask....will the DuroMax 16hp fit in a stock club car with no lift? I know the V-twin swap requires some lift to fit.

Top speed was about same as stock because engine RPMs was about the same 3600 and same driven clutch, tires, etc.

Nice job Scotty, that almost looks stock. I'm going this route on my GEM conversion and thus far all is going well. I'm in the measuring phase right now while waiting on getting a rear end before it all gets cut and welded in place.
I'm not looking to go any faster than standard but was wondering if the Duromax provides a bit more punch off the line than the standard motor. Also, I see you have dispensed with the governor assy. Did you take out the internals or just leave them in place ?
Thanks.

Chris.

I put a 16hp clone in a G9, it has around twice the power I'd estimate. Has great torque for pulling/climbing/etc. I did a donut on a hard dirt drive with it one day taking off, with 22x11s. It tops out at about the same speed as stock around 30gps, both with no governor, but it gets there much faster. The next one I will cut the head and advance the timing, this and that, and see what difference it makes. This G9 only has a cut secondary sheave on it everything else is all stock, it starts like stock too. The sheave does give a lower gear at takeoff, its nice but now if you pull something it just spins. It does seem to get up to high rpm faster on a holeshot with the sheave, only a second or two and its at shift rpm unlike the stock engine did....both with same stock yami clutch.

Some say the 13hp (390cc) will rev a little higher like 500rpm. The 16hp version (420cc) is more or less a stroked and bored version of the 13hp I don't think much else is different, I doubt it is 3hp more but should have more torque. If the cam and head are the same that may explain why it revs a little less. They may be different from different manufacturers too, this one was a Lifan from carolstream. The extra power sure makes the cart more fun it will push you back in the seat. I dunno, the 16hp might not do much for you if your cart is not lifted and the extra torque is not needed as much. Others say the 13hp runs really well.

customer has decided to go with a stock replacement, and now the fun begins of trying to find one, at a reasonable price.

I have family with a carryall, I told them to get a lift but they are contemplating the lift and rolling stock cost. A clone would fit right in there and sit the same way. But you would blow at least 1200 on it for all that plus fabbing in the engine, which we can do. That is what he got it for seems to be a good price. It does not want to idle, I cleaned the new carb but think it has a valve issue or something. No time to mess with it yet, but its pretty slow. I told him put 25-27s on it, that would gear it up the clone would go over 30 easy lol.
