Default club car motor swapp

hello all i have a club car, that has one of the old kf82 engines on it , it has started knocking, is there a suitable engine replacement that would fix, ive been looking at the duramax 7 hp it has to be 3/4 shaft with electric start,

7 hp is not really that much, if you are going to go through all the trouble of fabricating all the mounts, etc. You should definitely go bigger.

Either that or just find someone to rebuild the stock motor.

I've got a harbor freight honda clone 13hp in mine and it is awesome. Highly recommend going with one of those. Great engine.

I second that, at lest drop a 13hp clone in, I used a 16hp clone its the same engine with larger stroke and bore for 30cc more. I doubt its 3hp more, but should have more torque. In the cart it feels like double the power. Most carts are around 9-10hp stock. I also used the stock clutches and generator so it runs just like stock. The yamaha has a taper clutch that fits 1" shaft with the CPP adapter, one should work in any cart that takes a 1 3/16 wide belt. If yours does not search threads and see what others did.
