91 yamaha G9
had an 89ezgo now have a g9 yamaha and have a 16 hp briggs for it anybody done one i know yall have any input would be appriciated thanks

The clones here are honda copies, single cylinder, but likely similar install. Is the 16hp a vanguard? Lots of those have been done the V-twin vanguards are all similar to 23hp, the larger ones are a larger block.
You should know what charging system is on the engine first, if you run a key start then you need enough to keep the battery up. If you use the stock generator system it can start and charge it or just charge it, but you need a stock clutch or replacement with the belt pulley on it. The cart clutches with the pulley are taper fit, so you need an adapter from CPP to use those on a 1" straight shaft that I assume your B&S has. The clutches without the pulley usually come in any straight shaft size with key. Then you need to mount it somehow, after that you have to plumb the aircleaner and muffler depending on what you use. Then hook up the throttle and choke, a few wires and you are done. |
