Default 89 club car help

My wife got me my duromax for christmas today for my 89 club car. I am going to use the stock clutches and it looks like from what I have read on here that I will be useing a honda odyssey belt. My question is anyone that uses this setup what is the measurement from center to center of the clutches so I can go ahead and get the motor bolted in while I wait for a belt to get here? Or if no one knows how much deflection should the belt have when I install it so I get it tensioned right?
Thanks

9 5/8" center to center is the standard CC measurement Jeff and from all I have read about 2" deflection seems to be the norm but even on a standard CC this can vary. Some belts seem to slip on and off the clutches with ease while another seemingly identical cart can be a real bear to change over. Any particular reason you are going with the Odyssey belt as opposed to the regular CC piece ?

Yea the starter on the motor hits the rear end and is still too far away for the stock belt to go on. So I need a longer belt and the one for the odyssey is about the only choice for a 1" wide belt that is longer

I am going to start a project with a 91 CC and a duromax. If I order the engine with out the starter is there room to keep the engine back far enough to use the stock belt.

Thanks

Yes Chuck, the Duromax will clear the rear easily when the starter is removed and quite honestly, the starter is a bit of a waste of time and money unless you plan to to run without the S/G. I can't imagine it handling the stop / start cycles of a golf cart but it would probably be ok in certain applications where constant stopping and starting is not so much of an issue.

Thanks I think that is the way I will go. I am doing this on a tight budget.
