Default lyfan swap?

Ok guys looks like the snowmobile motor is coming out. What all has to be done to the Home Depot lyfan electric start(15hp). Does the shaft need to be modified and what primary would you guys go with? thanks for the help.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered the 16hp Duromax from max tool. They are all made by lifan to my knowledge. Also ordered the expensive azz 1'' straight shaft clutch from golf carts plus. Can I just hook my fuel line straight to carb from factory tank with fuel pump? Also any info on wiring into my key switch?

The G9 I did I used all the factory wiring it also starts with the pedal like stock. The only issue with clones is they don't charge much, so if you use the stock generator you keep that 15A of charging...but you don't have to start the cart with it. I like the cart to start like stock so I kept it.

So I put a relay on the clone to kill it (the kill switch or key on them just grounds the coil to shut them off). All I had to do is hook that up shorted to kill it all the time, then run the relay off the coil power wire that goes 12v with the pedal down on the G9, then a ground. That way when you hit the pedal to run it un-grounds the clone ignition when the relay is active....lets it run.

Ran the stock fuel pump off an intake barb, but it overflowed the carb. Ended up putting a return line before the carb to get rid of pressure. The next one I plan to run it off the rocker cover somehow. I tried using the governor shaft hole and it just fills with oil pretty quick, but did not overflow the carb.

i like the way you ran your throttle cable. that's pretty much how i decided to run it in my club car. you did a really nice clean install. i wish i could find my starter gen so i could resuse it for more amps. i think my teen son got it, and it's gone forever. i think my battery when to the same place. thinking about using a small car alternator instead.

Ran the return line into the vent hole, drilled a new hole for the vent. I think the cap is vented anyway but who knows. You should not have the problem with engine pulse instead of the intake, but it can happen because the yami pump is larger. Many use the little B&S or Mikuni pumps they use on gokarts, they are cheap and don't overflow things. They say if you make the pulse line longer it pumps less or not as hard, but didn't for for me. If I get the next clone working on the head pulse, I'll convert the other one. One day the line came off and pumped gas all over, he didn't have it clamped in there or something. At idle the gas is blasting through that return it has clear tubing.

thanks show i may try the return anyway. i have a couple of extra breathers for the top of the gas tank. Kevin i would try and find a starter generator so you dont have to keep charging your battery.

My clone there is a passage in the intake spacer, that is where the fuel runs out if the float can't handle it. I would not worry about it unless it does it, personally I don't like the return line its a hazard if it leaks/comes off.

Just to explain to anyone reading: The whole issue is with the pulse on the intake it pumps more at idle and less with more throttle. Pulse on the crank case someplace it will pump more with higher rpm, which is better of course. This one worked fine right off the block in the governor hole (no overflowing) but filled the pump with oil, thus the rocker area is better for that but we didn't have a fitting handy. Some do put fittings in the crank cover in the corner see the tips section on AGK site. Just remember the rocker cover is different on the 390/420 than the smaller ones like they show.
