That's going to be a hard call Gasser. You have a non original muffler, an after market air filter assembly, neither of which come close to the OEM specs that the clone was designed to run. It's a simple engine but when tuned this way it will require some trial and error to get right. Unless you follow a tried and tested method it will surely take some extra effort to tune correctly. This is the reason that after market tuners sell equipment tuned to certain specifications and charge accordingly for the time and trouble incurred to achieve a smooth reliable system. Ask Tom at CPP how many hours went into R&D before he and his crew got things right for marketing to the masses. FC.

I stuck a wire through it that would not fit, it took a while. So figure I made it just a little larger if I put a wire through it by hand. I didn't know they made drills that small, its really tiny. I did the main with a torch tip cleaner but none of those would fit. I listed in my clone post how large I took the main. I used a car airbox and car muffler. The problem with these is you can also tune the air jets for the idle and main, and the emulsion tube....but nobody really says how to do it. I tend to agree with others that say use a MC carb made to run at all throttle positions and not a lawnmower carb. So I messed with the jets and got it close. The air jets tend to lean the mixture when more air goes through the carb as I read, so enlarging the air jet for the main would make it leaner on the top end. The e-tube is more complicated it acts like an accelerator pump sort of, it fills with fuel and depletes as you keep the throttle open. The holes in it determine what level it runs the fuel down to before it leans the mixture. The one I have has big holes at the bottom so it is running it down low and using all the fuel in there already. That may be why mine will bog if you go mid speeds and nail it because that well is empty in there. The air jets are located where the air comes into the carb. That air mixes with fuel before the 'fuel' jet and goes out the idle or main jet. I just doubt these carbs can be tuned to work perfect for this use, or can be by us lol, but just my opinion. When I got the clone installed it would only run to half throttle, it ran fine under that. Above half it would miss like crazy and have no power....unless you put the choke on part way. I richened the jet until it ran WOT. Also when you check the main make sure it is fully warmed up I went too rich because the guy test running kept making a really short run up the driveway and saying it missed. It was spring and cool out. Had to get another jet and go smaller but its still way larger than stock. It needed to run a couple minutes to get warmed back up and maybe 500yd or something. I think it needs less air jet but those are a pain to mess with how do you make it smaller.

Ok everybody so here is the update! Idle= good (stuck wire through idle like sho 305) start= Still requires half choke when cold/ little throttle when warm. Good For Now. Was starving for fuel= Mikuni needs to be mounted flat(Fixed) POWER? Im supprised. I Kinda would like to run a v twin just to see( Gotta break it in more). RUNS WELL NOW.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKD-0...ature=youtu.be

OH yeah. THANKS to everybody whom chimed in and helped me with the build. Great to have a sight where people dont try and show how much they know by telling you eveything you did wrong and no insight as how to fix it or make your situation work( because they usually dont know themselves). Thanks again guys. Now im gonna enjoy my cart!!!!

Looks great, we need some video of you putting some wear on those tires now lol. This is what happens when you give a clone a 2 second head start in a race with your stock cart. He let off same place I did.

Sho305/anyone do these motors squeak/Chirp? Listen to the first video that I posted. You can hear it. My chirp at idle is louder than my exhaust.... NORMAL?

Never heard that with the one I did. Maybe a leak in the exhaust or something? Make sure you break it in don't crank high rpm for a while. It took over half a summer and the one I did loosened up then. I say that because a few people stuck rods with them but not head any for a while. One thing I was told to check is the coil, before I installed it. One guy the coil was loose and came off into the flywheel, it made a mess.

Checked belt, checked valve cover for small leak, etc. I think its the intake since I put the UNI filter and adapter on it. Runs well. I do plan on breaking it in. Running conventional oil now for break in, but will switch to synthetic when I change it. How many hours do you think until its BROKEN in?
