Default gx420 clone install questions

i am in the process of doing this swap and i need to know if anybody knows how wide a stock g2 belt is. I was originally planning on using the stock belt but its far too short for the way id like to mount the engine. i have snowmobiles so i grabbed one of those belts. my question there is the sled belt seems about 1/4 inch wider than the stock belt(badly worn). what effect would a slightly wider belt(i'm guessing maybe 1/8 wider at best) have on normal operation?

edit: also for anyone that buys these engines make sure you remove the stock exhaust. ours had slag and small chunks of bolts that when idling made their way into the exhaust valve. no real damage (luckily) but still is unacceptable for a brand new engine.

Yamaha carts are same as sleds, 1 3/16, you can get a lot of different sizes McMasters lists them. You are supposed to replace a yamaha cart belt at 1" width, and if it is lifted it will start to bog before you get down to 1" you should replace before that. I think only CC uses a 1" belt because they like to be special.

I tossed the airbox and exhaust on clone I did, also took out the governor before I ever put oil in it lol.

yes i did the same i had it apart before it ever got gas. i just put those peices back on to cut the crank and that is good to hear about the belt, it must have been the stock belt(thats likely never been changed)
