Default Anyone level their clone motor mounts?

When installing my Lifan clone I used a 3/8 steel plate on the factory rubber mounts. My question is, with the 6 inch Allsports lift I installed the engine cradle/rear end are at a steeper angle. The motor will not be level so has anyone used shims or some type of setup to raise the rear mount by the axle? or is it OK if the motor is "tilted " back slightly? Thanks Jason

i lowered the front and lifted the back some to get it level. i was a little nervous cause its a splash oil system not pump system. i recommend leveling it out. my 2 cents

Good point with the splash lube system. I also figured I would have to overfill the oil to get a good read on the front facing dipstick. Leveling the plate will be easy with the set up I made. Thanks for your help KennethC

Never put more oil in the engine than it calls for unless you want it to smoke and go places you dont want it to go. I dropped my front hinge point to level my clone. do you have any pics of your build?

When I installed the clone in my Geep1 cart I lowered the front and raised the rear of my engine cradle so when in the cart the engine is level.

Thanks Guys, I dont have any pics yet but I should go out get some tonite. NewGuy that jeep is super cool. Its unbelievable to me some of the things you guys come up with and build. I will just be happy if I can paint a halfway decent camo pattern on mine.

When I put a clone in a G9 I put a 1.25 square tube under the gen mount and hung my mount bars on that for the engine. That dropped the front down just a little past level. In a G9 the stock engine hangs between the front and rear mounts, the oil pan (part of the block) hangs between the mounts. So the clone is still a little higher than the stock engine, but the cylinder would hit the trans if I went lower. The G9 cylinder leans forward not back like the clone. I was afraid of oil flooding the cylinder going up a steep hill. We went up some short ones and it seems ok. They were like a hill a dumptruck would leave. It pulls the front at the top pretty strange feeling on a golf cart lol.

Nah, most of us are more normal....once in a while we stop over to TheNewGuy's place and eat lunch off his cart engines. Yes that jeep is super cool.
