Default Yamaha g14 engine inquiry.

I want to do a rebuild I'm considering the duromax but now I'm thinking the briggs 16hp vanguard. Can someone that has tried both engines tell me what they believe to be the better engine? As far as more performance parts, top speed and hill climbing what is the better engine? I think I can do the duromax swap for about the price of just the vanguard engine. Which is easier? Which would you do? My last thread didn't get any feed back. I don't want to jump in a build without plenty of information. My g has 6 inch a arm lift 22" tires. And stock engine now. Is the engine mount the biggest issue with both engines?

im not sure if you can get a bolt in conversion for the g14 or not but some models are available from cart parts plus ...u can call and talk to tom about it if so, it will be a bolt in and will be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy easier than a clone conversion whichi did on a 94 club car and am still sorting out the problems after getting the basic install done by outback fabricators ...im still haveing jetting problem which i just found out may be stemming partiatly from an exhaust leak at the header pipe ...the clone has way way more power and torque than stock....but if u can come up with the bucks i would go with the vanguard conversion from cpp and personally would go with the 23hp

hey chubrock check out my clone album in my profile. I love it to death the cart is awsome. its very easy to do and the only welding i had to do was the plate for the motor. I still use all my stock belts and it starts and stops just like a cart. Clone engine cost me $278 and the clutch adapter was $56. The rest was just my time. This way you can stay with your stock motor mounts also.

What engine did you choose as you clone? What kind of speed are you getting? And how much will you charge me for a motor mount?

Its the predator from harbor freight. Im about to do another clone. you will need to send me your front support that holds your starter generator and your rear one that holds the rear of your motor. as far as price i have got no clue. If you send me your brakets i will do yours as im doing mine.

How fast are you running? And do you have a lot more power than stock?

a lot more power than stock. you will be very happy with it. im going to say it will do 30plus. thats with 22s on it. going up a step hill with two adult on it and you hit the throttle it will pickup speed where a stock motor would be dieing.
