Re: g2 engine swap
Here are some pics from the first one I did that might show it better, also earlier in that thread I think I said what size stuff I used.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-y...thread-11.html Its just two bars. You weld the square tube under the gen mount to drop the front of the clone down and level it. Weld the little piece of angle to the side of the rear mount flush with top to make it longer, otherwise the passenger side bar will be hanging off. Then you have to lift the front and rear factory mount upwards because they hang down on the rubber. But first clamp the bars on the front tube hard and laying on top of the rear. Set the engine in and line up the clutches, get it where you want, move the bars if you need, leave room for oil drainage. Now take the engine out and mark the bar locations. You need to lift the mounts and loosely clamp the bars as the front tube and rear plate will be at an angle to the bars, and you need to weld them that way so the mounts are not twisted. They could fail if left twisted down. Then I line the engine up the last time and mark the holes, remove, drill, mount engine in. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/clone...-clone-bb.html |
