Default Interest in a 18hp GX440 Clone?

Just curious if there is any interest in an 18HP Clone 440cc. Its basically identical to the DuroMax/DuroStar/Predator 16HP GX420 but with 2mm larger bore to make 439cc, a 6 Amp Alternator, a factory 28mm carb, and a steel rod good to 7000rpm.

Preliminary pricing would be around $299 + Shipping.

Let me know your thoughts.

So is this something your doing on the side? Or have access to motors wholesale? Whats the history on the motors? And what do they perform like?

Iam an Importer and after completing my Clone swap on my Club Car, these engines really sparked my interest due to the excellent bang-for-buck factor and large aftermarket. On my last trip to China, I spent a day doing some research on these and visiting a couple of factories that make them.

I can import them 240 at a time on a 20' container. What sparked my interest is that there are a few factories that make a 440cc version and they havent made it to the USA yet because it costs too much to get an EPA certification and there doesnt seem to be much of a demand for them.

According to EPA, if I Import just engine parts and not complete engines, no certification is required and that cuts $45 right off the cost of each engine.

The idea is to import them in shortblock configuration and throw the heads & carbs on a different shipment to avoid the EPA bullshit. Once they arrive, we can basically bolt on the topend, box it and ship it out. Thus, the engines would not come with gas tanks, control boxes or mufflers, all of which are not used when swapping into a golf cart anyway!

Ive ordered 10 samples and they will be put on a furniture shipment that arrives in a month. Once I get them in, Ill swap it into my CC and post some vids, reviews, and dyno numbers compared to the 16hp version.
