Default Speed gears or connecting rod

My 95 CC wants to go faster. Currently has a Honda GX340 (11 HP) would you get a set of high speed gears or a billet connecting rod and eliminate the governor. I already machined the clutches for torque/speed And running 21" tires.

Dont need a billet connecting rod...just remove the governor.

We turn 6500rpm on the stock Clone rods all the time with no issue. Unless you plan to run 6500rpm for 30 mins straight...dont sweat it.

Should be able to beef up the springs and toss the governor. The stock cam will only pull to 5500 or something anyway. Wonder if the 390 cam is bigger or same.... Anyway you can put GX200 springs inside the stock ones, places like NR racing has them for $4 or something. Try a 4 degree advance key on the flywheel too that helps and is cheap.

Agreed but go with the 8-10 degree key. These engines need alot of timing...

I cut my head .050 and mine will spark knock at low rpm with the 4 degree key, but only if I go slow then hit the gas. The clutch catches at a lower rpm if I do that, otherwise its fine. More timing helps it wind out better. I been thinking of trying to adapt the yamaha ignition to it to be honest, it advances to 30 degrees above 2500rpm. Would solve that issue the right way.

Plain old regular! I plan to put a powerbloc on it next spring or it may run differently when I get better weights in it. One was so bad it just broke on me. Got cart in the garage yesterday hope to work on it this weekend and get clutch fixed up right with some good used weights. Have to get it rolling so I can play in the snow at least a few times.

Normally it runs about 2500rpm on takeoff at mild throttle, but if you let off rolling slow (less than 5mph) and gas it again it will pull lower that is only time it does and only for a couple seconds then it revs and is fine. So I try to not do that. It might not now its so cold here lol, that was in summer 90F heat. Also could have been carb going lean at large abrupt opening and low rpm like that.

Ahh. That makes sense. When you run premium you can get away with alot more compression and timing. Its really doesnt add up to much more money on such a small tank. $1 a tank.

I was told you can run regular with .050 cut. Mostly because I don't want to buy different gas than all my other stuff and how much more power would it be. I figure once you get done testing those cams lol I may go that route. You can't do that much to a 4 stroke without a new cam.

The extra .050 and 4 degrees of timing makes a big torque difference. Cant wait to get these things dynod.
