Default duromax 16hp question

I debating installing a duromax 16 hp m8tor in my cart. I'm planning on getting the electric start and wondering if I will need to run a generator or alternator to charge the battery or if the motor has a charging system built in.

They have ALOT of potential. The 18hp 440s will be in shortly.

The electric start is OK, but your best bet is a recoil start using the stock starter/alternator.

When i got my cart there was no starter / generator or any electrical in it. I basically just got the frame, axle, body. That is why i am wondering about the charging system on the duromax. I have a 13hp briggs that is pull start only sitting on the shelf in the garage that i was going to put in the cart but again i run into a charging issue. Any thoughts?

Car alternator is best bet. They will charge but only if you start them and run for a while each start (elec start clone) and don't use lights and stuff. You can use a cart or other gen to charge also as many older lawnmowers did but alternators work better and are smaller. Otherwise use a larger battery and charge it every couple weeks or so, that is what many people do. I'm told you can put a second coil in a clone to double it, its still much less than a stock gen. Somebody is doing that on here but not heard how it worked. If you get super lucky you can find a gx390 with larger charging system and use that, but its a different flywheel and everything and very expensive to buy new.
