clone swap questions
Im in the middle of a clone swap in a jacobson 1110 (ezgo). I picked up the 420cc electric start motor today. I have already got the motor installed. I have it hooked up to the ezgo fuel pump and gas tank. the motor starts and runs. the clutch is not egaged at idle and i can move the throttle by hand and it engages the cluth like it should. I have tried to hook the foot pedal to the govonor arm but it dont run right then.
Do I have to unhook the govonor? What is the easiest way to hook the foot pedal to the motor? |

Re: clone swap questions
ok I removed the gononor. and hooked up the throttle cable. It seems as though its kinda hard to start. any ideas why that is. I took it for a test run today also. I noticed that if i get up any speed then go to push on the brake to slow down it backfires. any ideas on that also? thanks

Re: clone swap questions
When you removed the governor, did you put in HD valve springs so the stock valves dont float?

Re: clone swap questions
You can hook the carb to the cart governor like it was stock. Or put springs in the clone it will go faster that way throttle to carb. You have to work on carb popping when you slow is lean idle is there a plug in the flange next to the intake, remove the air mix screw is there. May have to enlarge jet that is under idle speed screw in that plastic plug. For full throttle bogging you have to enlarge main jet. If you put free flowing exhaust/airbox on it will certainly be lean.
