Default Predator 420cc coil question

We just got done installing the engine in an old Hyundai cart and it came to life for 10-15 minutes. Not long after, it stopped sparking (swapped the junk plug to an NGK). It'll light up the test light without the plug, no problem, and with the plug it'll light up real weak and not every time it should.

Should the coil be the same as one from a Honda gx390?

Coil should be the same as a 390. I actually have a 390 coil on my 420 right now . When mine went out and would give a really weak spark. Check the coil for cracks, that's how I figured out it was my coil. Is it an electric start?

The magnets on the flywheels have been known to fall off and take the coils out too, along with the bosses cast into the block that hold the coil. My friend lost a few race motors that way. But on the other hand 7800 rpm will do that LOL

We'll check the magnets when we get to the coil. It was only idling when it was running so the coil swap should, hopefully, get it going again.
