Default It's funny what I thought a year ago....

You know....it's funny what happens to peoples (and my own) opinions in short amounts of time, mostly due to new experiences and tried experiments.

Example: A year ago I never even visited this "Clone Engine Swaps" section of this website. Now....it's the first one I check! LOL

I often wondered:

1.Why would anyone ever put a pressure washer engine in a golf cart?

Or 2. Why would you want a lawn mower V Twin engine?

Or 3. Why would you not rebuild and modify your stock golf cart engine?

Last summer I had a friend, also has the golf cart virus, say to me, "I think for my next cart I'm gonna just get a clone!" and I thought to myself...."Whatever dude."

It's funny what I thought a year ago.....

And now, I'm the proud owner of a VC440 clone! And...next week I'm putting in a cam, 1.3 rockers, and chromoly pushrods!!! Man, am I sick or what?

I tried beating you with a stick to make you come over to the other side! It took a while, but you're here now. No going back.

Well I haven't made it over to "YOUR SIDE" yet....but probably one ride on your supercart will likely convince me.... LOL

I've had fun along the way though.....and now I have a powerplant for my son's go kart project.

Better hurry.....Memorial Day is almost here!!!

Trust me slo, it sounds like we both took the same path with these things. I started out building a couple hot-rod 2-strokes, but finally decided to start from scratch and finally build the cart that I always wanted. My 93 looks almost identical to my 89, paint and everything. It just has a slightly different powerplant.

Man, if you want a go-cart motor, have I got the motor for you.....

Let's not get carried away....HE'S ONLY 6! But....he's a motorhead.....just like his old man. He asked me if it will be able to "DRIFT".....HUH? How does a 6 year old know....wait....he IS my son.

But we both know that Enticer G1 isn't going to drift anywhere...guess I better get a Vanguard.

I still have my first GoKart that Dad got for me in 79',its' a 66' Simplex racing Kart, and it was almost completely original(still have the parts too. When we retired it from racing,we made it into an off-road cart with 22x11-8 knobbies on the back and jack-shafted it with the 5hp Techumseh Big-Block(7hp style block)that I raced it with.I put it back together about 15yrs.ago with a 5hp Briggs Race motor on Alky, thats still on it.The kids can't wait to try it this summer.I did switch it back to gas though.I'll let them have some fun this summer, then its' getting restored.

It's fun creating memories with my kids. I wish I had a go kart when I was a kid, parents just wouldn't allow it. But I did ride around in grandpa's three wheeled electric golf cart!

See,it started with that.I was 7 when I got that Kart, and we have a pic of me and my brother riding it together.I told Kim that I want a pic of the kids doing the same thing, almost 35yrs.later.He was so short that he had to put his leg thru the center of the steering-hoop,and shift his body to switch from gas to brake. He started at 4,first time out,he went around the front yard and started doing donuts, laughing his a** off.My son Jake is the same way,I'm screwed
