New Hemi Cylinder heads for 440
Just thought Id share the new cylinder heads that will be coming on the 440s starting in May.
They are a Hemispherical chamber with built in 1.3:1 shaft rockers. The power increase is massive. I was able to hit 47 mph @ 7500 rpm with one on a customers Yamaha G16 with stock gears, 18" tires, factory clutches and our mild cam using a STOCK 440 Carb. The hemi 440 cart blew past our 23hp Vanguard shop cart w/Rev-kit which does 37mph...like it was standing still! VIDEOS COMING SOON! |

So forgive me for being a knuckehead.....but why is the HEMI design so good? I mean I KNOW it is....by what's the science behind it? Valve size? Port shape? And is there a need to port and polish this head?
1989marathon.....you listening? I'll be ready for that race in June! LOL |

If I remember correctly, with hemi combustion chambers you have better flow due to the valve setup, you can run bigger valves, and something about surface area for the chamber size getting a more complete burn. I'm not a Chrysler guy but I'm sure one will be along shortly lol.

Re: New Hemi Cylinder heads for 440
There is always a reason for things happening. Just as soon as I got started tearing down my G9 I had some other projects that needed my attention so it got put on the back burner and I never got a chance to order the VC 440......well now I know why......It's going to have a HEMI. Me being a MOPAR guy it's going to be awesome. Now I'll just have to find a 440 HEMI badge to put on it.
