Default engine turns in Neutral. but won't in Forward or reverse

Needing you guys advice again. My old club car 92 with a clone in it cranks and runs in F/N/R. I have pulled engine and rear-end to put in my newer 95 club car. When I got the newer 95 club car there was no engine but there was a S/G. All wire was complete and not cut up. I put a battery in it and the hit the pedal, the S/G worked find and also the reverse buzzer worked, and lights. All I have done is swap the complete engine, rear and cradle from my other cart. My problem is the cart will turn over and run only in neutral. If I put it in forward or reverse the S/G will not turn, and also the reverse buzzer is not working. Don't really care about buzzer but just trying to give all info. I need for my cart to crank in gear because with stock clutches in dosn't like to go in gear. Thanks again for all the help, This site is just full of great ideas

Sounds like you have the cart in -maintenance mode- that aloud's you to run the engine in neutral, and not in F or R to work on it, there should be a yellow nob on the back side of the F/R switch, or a toggle switch/ off /on

Hey Rib sorry to dought you. Just went out there to garage and seen that yellow thing at the F/R switch. Don't know how it got turned but it was. Now it cranks in forward and reverse. You the MAN. But it don't turn over in neutral. My old cart turns over in a 3 but I'll keep looking at the two and see what I can figure out but it's looking like maybe the familly might be riding Monday. So happy. Thanks.
