Default trouble getting fuel to duromax

I repowered a Cushman gc400 with a 16 hp duromax a while ago. I used the original fuel tank and a pulse pump off a brings 30 hp vtwin mower. I drilled a hole in the valve cover for pulse. This weekend it started to die if I gave it too much throttle. I hooked up a gravity tank and the only time it pumps is when it first is cranked over and when it shuts off? Other than that I can't even get a trickle of fuel. Do any of you gurus have any thoughts? Thanks
Don

390-460 clones have a partition in the cover, you have to drill in the side low to get through both and into the inner part where the good pulse is. Some have made it work on the outer side but I am not sure how as its open to the airbox. There is a one way valve in the partition that lets fumes out only. If you plug the venting of the cover you will get oil leaks all over.

There is no oil in the pulse line, I just checked that. I took the valve cover off to drill it and I got through both layers , I put some rtv around both top and bottom. I was playing with it tonight and it will pump a little at very low rpm. Otherwise it does not pump a thing. It was working fine for a couple hours of short trips untill it just stopped working correctly. I got a new pump ordered, hopefully that is the problem.

I would try that, mine pumps more the more rpm as the pulse is faster.
