Default Surging

Got my cart back together and running and starting good (still some starter belt slipping when hot).

At mid range cruise I get a bit of a surge, I have been trying to adjust this out with the low speed mixture screw but so far, have not found the sweet spot. I am running my cart directly off of the VC supplied header that I cut about 6 inches off of, into a short piece of 1,25 flex pipe then into a Tractor Supply muffler. I am using the VC supplies "muffler" as a tail pipe. Maybe this combo is causing the engine to run rich. I would like to try a Jet size leaner than stock.

Question. where can I get a set of these jets. Does Vegas Carts stock them?

Before you start willy nilly swapping jets I would rule out a few other things. Are you certain you don't have an air leak? Do you have a new carb or an old carb?

I have two 420 clones I did and could never get the stock carb to run right at about 10mph steady on 22 tires. It has no midrange circuits. Likely the air jets need to be changed but not sure its possible. They lean it out with more airflow. The carb is not very adjustable in the 1/8-1/4 throttle range. (stock clone carbs, not modded or other carbs) They are very cheap of course. Could also be the e-tube needs changes but that is pretty deep.

No air leak, new VC supplied carb that came on engine.

Any change to the exhaust or airbox requires jetting on these, true with most any small engine. But once its done its done.

Again, where do you purchase the over or under jets?

Most gokart places have them, ebay has stock ones I know. NR racing for example should have anything you want. I bought stuff from them no issues.
