Default Homemade chain tensioner

Made this since i can't weld. Would it work, taking advice hehe

Airboats done. I got a 440 rotax in it ans it hauls donkey. I will add pic of install tonight and test tomorrow

I may be a little late in replying here, but here goes.

I have noticed two things.
1. You will need a much heavier duty spring than you are currently using.
2. I can't really tell from your picture but I am thinking that you have your tensioner placed on the drive side of the chain. What It mean is when your cart is driving forward the chain will be tight on one side of the sprocket as the motor is "pulling" it. You want your tensioner positioned on the "slack" side of the pulley.

Try these things and see if you don't notice a dramatic improvement.

It works but you might be right because it does make a squeaky noise from the chain. Might be too tight.

My new tensioner just came in. It for motorcycles but tell me what you guys think if it should work or fix my other one
