Electric to Gas "Project HuntVE"
Proceed with caution. I am a recent new member and this is my first ever interaction/contribution to a forum of any sort.
Here's the beginning to quite a suspenseful build, "Project HuntVe," here we come!!! Yes I am converting a perfectly fine $8k electric club car to gas. Why you may wonder?... well ... the answers simple.... because I can!!! Any suggestions and/or feedback is highly encouraged. I have seen very few elec. to gas swaps and out of the few there's not a whole lot of descriptive detail and pictures pertaining to the certain variables that come into effect in the build. hopefully this will help the next guy that comes along in his build. What's a better way to learn than from other peoples mistakes?!?!?! Can't beat it. ENJOY |

Re: Electric to Gas "Project HuntVE"
The motor is a 346cc predator from hf. They were having a parking lot blowout sale a while back and figured a hundred bucks for this motor was a steal. I have recently ordered a GTC TC2 1004 torque converter, air filter, #41 chain, and an interchangeable sprocket hub from Gokarts USA.

Re: Electric to Gas "Project HuntVE"
if you mount the engine where the batteries used to sit you might come into the problem of the chain loosening up when you add weight ( passengers) i converted a hyundai electric to gas and that was my problem the chain would always loosen up when i added people, and also you will not have reverse unless you buy some sort of gear box

That is one of the things I've been trying to play extra close attention to in the builds here. Location Location Location!!! I think I want to build a mount above the transaxle that's where I have the most real estate. But then again I can see the chain still being a potential issue if the back gets loaded down. I wont know anything for sure until I get the parts in and assembled on the motor. Oh the anticipation... Im not particularly worried about having reverse at this point. Ill have that included in my future plans for the cart when I decide I want my 4wd back. Then were talking nip tuck with a quad and a 1000 crotch rocket motor. Wylie Good eye! indeed it is a Tige (20i) once I finish the gel coat Ill be selling it. Just incase anyone may be interested. |

Re: Electric to Gas "Project HuntVE"
While anxiously waiting for my parts to come in and over analyzing what I've got, it appears as though I'm going to lengthen my leaf spring shackles and lower the rear shock mounts in order to have enough room to mount the engine. Seems like the clone is going to have to be a little closer to the ground than I would like...
