Default Belts

I have the vegas cart starter gen bracket and I've decided to change out the belt because if slipping issues. The belt that comes with the bracket is a 37". Does anyone knows what size belt for the clogged? Is it Ax37 for the clogged one?

I found that they measure the smooth belts and cogged belts differently. They measure the smooth belts on the outside circumference, cogged belts on the inside. How do I know this? Well I have an AX31 Cogged belt I will sell cheap (it is really 33 inches long). The correct size in my application is AX29 (which is really 31 inches long).

You can get them in any length you want. In my case the belt that came with the VC kit was too long.

The Generator was bumped up against the shift mechanism and would short out. I used the shorter belt to keep the Starter/Generator from hitting it. I bought 2 0r 3 belts before I got it right, and then 2 more cogged belts. Thats how I found out that a 32 Inch cogged belt is not the same length as a 32 inch smooth belt. One is measured inside circumference, the other is outside. Why? God only knows.

Sorry but i ordered the ax35 and its a perfect match. I guess it depends on what your installing it on. My dune buggy starts up a lot smoother. The only thing that i need to work on with the s.g is the 330 cam. It locks in and the sg doesn't have enough power to losen it up so i have to turn it manually EVERY start up. Every time i turn the key it does this:rolleyes:

Sometimes you can put a momentary kill switch on and hit it with the starter, once its turning over release it and it will keep spinning. If the cam has comp release make sure the release valve is set to very small lash like .002/etc. Some have had to bend the thing on the cam to get them to work right, assuming the cam has it. You can also try larger cables like 4ga on the gen pos and neg to get max current to it, but not sure how much that helps depends on your existing cables.

Valve set. I got 4 gauge cable and i have a separte kill switch. Nothing works. Its so tough i have to use a lot of leverage doing it manually. I was thinking maybe its the oil I'm using

If its compression and you have no release, you need a HD starter. Hookm just found a nice one for vanguards.

Its compression for sure. I've research and asked 100 times what sg to get and always get the same answer club cart sg. So is there a high torque club cart starter/gen

I don't know but some of their carts did have larger stock engines I was told, the carryall iirc. I run yamahas but not sure if they have more power or not. I have a cubcadet (old 70s thing) that has a big gen it turns over a 12hp kohler no problem but not sure how much hard that is than a 10hp GC engine....but its harder to turn.
