Par Car power issues
I just got a Columbia Par Car 3L-20250-D0 (what year is it, 1990?). I put all new batteries in it and new wires, 4 gauge I believe, and when testing it out yesterday it won't pull up and hill or onto the trailer. I checked all the battery voltages and they were all 6.2-6.4 volts not under load and 5.7-5.8 volts at full throttle with the wheels chocked in forward gear. It had 40 volts overall, not under load. The resistor coils on the solenoids were red hot when testing it that way as well.
What do I test from here? One of the forward solenoids were replaced with a unipoint snls182m but I believe that is the correct solenoid??? |

Re: Par Car power issues
Wrong solenoid must be 36 volt 586 series White Rodgers: is what I recommend. You did not say you had the rear wheels off the ground you cant test like that I am sure the resistor coils were hot. With the rear wheels off the ground you will here 1 click to get the wheels moving 2nd click faster 3rd click even faster 4th click light speed forward and reverse
